Richard A. Kerlin – K3AM (W3JGW)

December 16, 1923 – June 24, 2015

Richard A. Kerlin, 91, of Harrisburg, Passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Homeland Center, Harrisburg. He was the widower of Jean Kerlin.

He was born December 16, 1923, in Harrisburg.

Mr. Kerlin was a US Navy veteran, having served in Alaska as a Radio Operator during WWII.

Richard was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard in Paxtang. He was an original member of WHTM-TV and retired in 1985 as a Chief Engineer. He was a life member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers; a 50 yr member of the Perseverance Lodge #21 F& AM, a member of the Harrisburg Consistory; the Scottish Rite Club; and several Radio Clubs. He also held the amateur radio license K3AM.

Surviving Richard are his children, Lois Paskalik and husband Thomas of Mechanicsburg, Robert Kerlin and wife Alice of Mooresburg, NC, William Kerlin of Mt. Gretna and Marie Thumma and husband Fred of Mechanicsburg; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 13, 2015, 9:00 AM, at Homeland Center, 1901 N 5th St., Harrisburg, PA 17102.

He is buried in Rolling Greens, Camp Hill
