Bob Grant Hildebrand Sr. – SK – WA3CLV

Robert Grant Hildebrand, Sr., 94, died on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.
He was the husband of Purdeon M. (Luckenbaugh) Hildebrand. Together they celebrated 73 1/2 years of marriage.
Born in York, on December 23, 1919, he was the son of the late Charles E. Hildebrand, Sr. and the late Margaret B. (Keppel) Hildebrand.
He worked at Caterpillar,
He retired from Maple Press, where he was a printer.
Robert served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the West York V.F.W. Post 8951 and the Pleasureville American Legion Post 799.
He was a ham radio operator WA3CLV.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Steven Douglas Hildebrand of Mount Wolf; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert G. Hildebrand, Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St., York. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
